Broadband
Expanding reliable broadband access
to connect farms, businesses, and communities.
High-speed internet, from Main Street to the corn stalk.
WHIN serves as a neutral host across the Wabash Heartland, building and supporting the infrastructure needed to bring high-speed broadband to rural communities. By enabling local Virtual Network Organizations to deliver reliable connectivity, WHIN helps provide farms, businesses, and rural addresses with access to high-speed internet. This connectivity is foundational - powering the adoption of smart technologies, supporting data-driven operations, and strengthening the economic resilience of the region.
Do you need broadband internet service at your rural home, farm, or business?
WHIN has partnered with local and Federal partners to create a high-speed wireless network serving the northwest-central Indiana region.
With the help of a $1.7M grant from the U.S. Department of Commerce / Economic Development Administration (EDA) and its own Living Lab funds, WHIN deployed advanced wireless gear on 15 vertical assets in WHIN counties to form a regional neutral host network. The goal is to provide at least 100/20 Mbps service in areas that are unserved and underserved.
“After years of unreliable internet and poor customer support, I switched to WHIN’s broadband alliance and haven’t looked back. I now get five times the speed at a lower cost, and it consistently delivers. Video meetings, streaming, and everyday online activity run smoothly—and any issues have been handled quickly. It’s been an excellent solution for our rural home.”
